"The tourism industry in Cebu City is sustaining growth, we are proud to host different tourists who immerse in our culture and learn the way of life," thus said Assistant Cebu City Administrator Atty. Dominic Dino in behalf of Mayor Michael Rama in the tourism congress night held at Marco Polo Plaza Hotel last June 28, 2012.

The Mayor graces the event but opted to have Atty. Dino read his message because of his sore throat presiding the Regional Development Council held in Tagbilaran City Bohol the whole day of the same date.

"This gathering is a symbol of unity and synergy of the tourism sector and stakeholders to promote Cebu's globally competitive tourism industry through various initiatives and activities," Cebu City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chair Prudencio Gesta underscored.

Adding color to the occasion was an audio visual presentation of the Cebu City Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission about its new project "Adventure Cebu" presented Ms. Cebu 2012 Pierre Anther Infante. It featured about the various ecological tourism activities and destinations in the different mountain Barangays comprising the city. The Cebu City Dance Sports Team, University Dance Company and local singers entertained the audience while enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

The event was highlighted by the conferment of Plaque of Recognition to Consul Jaime Picornell for his 50 years of exemplary involvement in writer of Cebu Arts, Culture and Tourism. The awesome raffle prizes made everyone stayed until the end. Moreover, the support of all concerned specially the sponsors wrapped up the success of the event.
