  • The head of CCMC is ending his seven-month stay with the government-run hospital to look for “greener pasture” in Canada.
  • Dr. Eduardo Sedoripa applied with Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama for an indefinite leave that took effect on July 31.
  • Rama appointed Dr. Gloria Duterte, head of CCMC’s internal medicine dept. and coordinator of the violet ribbon advocates who help battered women, as acting hospital chief.

  • Flyovers don’t reduce traffic congestion as shown by the presence of the Gov. Cuenco Ave. flyover, the City Traffic Operations Management said yesterday.
  • CITOM Executive Dir. Rafael Yap said there are other alternative solutions to the city’s traffic problems other than building expensive flyovers.
  • Yap said the Banilad flyover built along Gov. Cuenco Ave. and A.S. Fortuna St. was opposed by the Phil. Institute of Civil Engineers.

  • A subdivision developer was reminded to work on the drainage system while Cebu City Hall’s demolition crews will be kept busy dismantling illegal structures as the rainy season shows no signs of letting up in the coming days.
  • Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said the developer of Monterrazas de Cebu should do more than desilting sedimentation ponds within their site to retain floodwater and prevent it from flooding homes in barangays Guadalupe and Tisa.
  • Rama said water from the sedimentation ponds, if released, would need a water outlet.
